Cookie notice
No cookies of our own and no analytics, so no banner. Two things still reach beyond the page and both are set out here in full.
Effective 11 August 2026Version 1.0Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)
1The short version
This website sets no cookies of its own. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting, no profile of you.
There is no consent banner, because there is nothing here that needs consent.
Two things still reach beyond the page and both are described below in full: a strictly necessary security cookie that our hosting provider may set, and a request to Google's font servers for the two typefaces this site uses.
2The Australian rule, which is not the European one
Australia has no separate cookie consent regime. There is no local equivalent of the European ePrivacy Directive, and no statutory requirement to show a banner before setting a cookie. A banner on an Australian website is a design decision, not compliance with anything.
What does apply is the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where a cookie or a similar technology collects information about a reasonably identifiable individual, that is personal information and the Australian Privacy Principles govern it: APP 3 on collection, APP 5 on telling you, APP 6 on what may be done with it, APP 11 on keeping it safe and destroying it.
So the questions worth answering are whether we told you, whether the thing is necessary, and whether it is used only for what we said. This page answers those three.
3Why there is no banner
A consent banner exists to collect permission for storage that is not strictly necessary. There is none of that here, so a banner would be asking you to consent to nothing.
That is worse than leaving it out. It trains people to dismiss a control that matters on other sites, it implies this site is doing something it is not, and it puts a click between you and the page for no benefit to anybody.
If analytics or advertising were ever added here, we would ask before it loaded, make refusing exactly as easy as accepting, keep the site fully usable for anyone who refused, and update this page before any of it went live rather than after.
4Everything that may be stored on your device
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells automated traffic from human traffic so abuse can be blocked. Strictly necessary | 30 minutes, refreshed on activity | No |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Set only if you were shown a challenge and passed it, so you are not asked again | Up to 30 days | No |
That is the whole table. We set nothing ourselves, neither of those is readable by us as an identifier of you, and neither is used for analytics or advertising by anybody.
5What this website does not do
- No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, or analytics of any other kind.
- No advertising, no advertising cookies, no retargeting.
- No Meta pixel, LinkedIn Insight tag, TikTok pixel, or conversion tracking of any sort.
- No session recording, no heatmap, no scroll tracking, no rage click detection.
- No embedded video, map, social widget, chat bubble or comment system.
- No local storage, session storage or IndexedDB written by our code. The one script on this site toggles a navigation menu and reveals sections as you scroll, and it stores nothing.
- No canvas, font or device fingerprinting, and no attempt to recognise a returning visitor.
- No A/B testing, no feature flag service, no consent management platform.
Open the Application and Network panels in your browser's developer tools and you will find exactly what is described on this page. If you find something else, that is a defect and we want to know about it.
6The one outbound request
Two typefaces load from Google Fonts, at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request tells Google's servers your IP address, your user agent and the page you were on. Google states that the Fonts service sets no cookies and that the requests are not used for advertising or profiling.
It is still a request to a third party that you did not ask for, and describing it as nothing would be dishonest. Self hosting the two files would remove it entirely and is on the list of things to do. Until then, blocking those two hosts leaves this site perfectly readable in a system font.
7Server logs are not cookies, but they are still collection
Every web server records the requests it receives. Our hosting provider logs the IP address, the timestamp, the path, the user agent and the response code. None of that is stored on your device, so none of it is a cookie, but it is personal information and it belongs in an honest account of what visiting this site involves.
Those logs sit with the provider on its own cycle, currently under 30 days, and are used for delivering pages and defending against abuse. They are not joined to anything else, because there is nothing else to join them to.
8The application does not use cookies either
Cookies are a website mechanism. The AI Golf Coach application is not a web page in a wrapper and does not use them.
What the application does keep on your device is your recordings, the pose data derived from them, the analysis model itself, your preferences and a random support identifier. None of that reaches us, none of it is an advertising identifier, and all of it disappears when you uninstall. The full account is in the privacy policy.
There is no advertising identifier because there is no advertising, and there is no analytics software development kit embedded in the application.
9Controlling storage yourself
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete the ones you have, and inspect exactly what a site has set. Blocking the two listed above may mean Cloudflare challenges you more often, but this site will still work.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site data.
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
A content blocker or a private window will also work, and nothing on this site detects or reacts to either.
10Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Both signals are honoured, which is easy to promise because there is nothing here to switch off. If either signal is present, no additional storage or processing happens, and the same is true if neither is.
We say so anyway. A site that quietly ignores these signals has made a choice it would rather you did not examine, and the only way to tell the difference from outside is whether the site is willing to write the sentence down.
11If any of this changes
Anything that stores information on your device beyond what is listed here gets added to this page, with a new effective date, before it goes live rather than after. Where the law that applies to you requires consent, we will ask first, and refusing will not cost you access to anything on this website.
The version in force is the one published here. Previous versions are kept and will be sent to you on request.
